President & Chief Executive Officer
Thomas A. Amato is president & CEO of Metaldyne, LLC, a $1 billion in revenue automotive and truck supplier principally owned by The Carlyle Group.
Mr. Amato provides strategic and operational leadership to the global company, which has 24 facilities in 13 countries. He also serves on the Board of MD Investors, the parent company of Metaldyne, LLC.
Mr. Amato has successfully completed numerous strategic, investment, acquisitions, divestitures, and turn aroundrestructuring assignments. He works out of Metaldyne’s global headquarters in Plymouth, Mich.

Education and Training:
- Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich.
- Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.
- Completed executive leadership courses at The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in Hanover, NH.
- Currently serves on the Boards of Asahi Tec, a Tokyo Stock Exchange publicly traded company, and Wolverine Tube Inc., a privately held specialty copper tube manufacturer
