Vice President, Sales and Engineering - Sintered Products Group
In his role as vice president, Sales and Engineering, George Lanni oversees the global engineering and sales functions within Metaldyne’s Sintered Products Group. He also provides leadership for the Group’s product technology and global business strategy.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Lanni served as director of Sales and Engineering, where he directed the design, development and commercial activities of Metaldyne’s global powder metal products.
Prior to this position, Mr. Lanni held several management positions in product engineering and business development, playing a key role in the company’s OEM customer diversification as well as the Group’s global expansion into Europe, Mexico, Brazil, and China. In this role, he also led key strategic initiatives that included a customer Technical License agreement in Hiroshima, Japan.
Mr. Lanni began his career when he joined Masco Corporation’s Research and Development Center in 1991 as an engineering co-op student. He later transferred to the former Mascotech and began his career with the Sintered Product Group in 1995 as the sole applications engineer, establishing the in-house product design and CAE analysis capabilities for the connecting rod product line.
Mr. Lanni holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University, as well as a Masters in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University.
He is based at Metaldyne’s corporate headquarters in Plymouth, Michigan.
